Today I was feeling curious today so I clicked the board buttons at the top of the site. The fms boards don't seem to be working. More specifically, when you open a thread the messages don't display.

Maybe a temporary thing? It just worked when I clicked the link above.

Strange... it just happened with this thread too. Refreshed the page and the problem persisted. Then I pressed Ctrl+F5 (refresh ignoring cached content) and now it works, and the link also works.

When it does not display, do you get just a blank white screen? Or do you see any part
of the page on the screen?

The page seems to display normally, just that all the messages are missing. I'll try to figure out more about this problem if it happens again and I'll also take a screenshot.

It has happened again and I know what I did this time to cause it. I cleared my cookies and cache and restarted my browser and when I visited retrobbs.i2p again noscript is back to blocking Javascript.

The problem seems to be the tzo cookie that is set through Javascript, if it's not set, then posts don't load at all for some reason. What's funny is that retrobbs seems to work fine without Javascript, it's just that one cookie that seems to make the difference of posts loading vs not loading. Javascript seems to be only required for setting it.

I guess you could default the timezone offset to 0 if the cookie is not set?

PS: Would it also be possible to bump up the amount of requests before getting 429 Denied due to excessive requests? I seem to hit that limit far too easily..

Thank you for the thorough bug report! I was able to duplicate the problem here and have hopefully
fixed it. This seems maybe another change required for php8:

I have changed:
if(isset($_COOKIE['tzo'])) {
$offset=$_COOKIE['tzo'];
} else {
$offset=$CONFIG['timezone'];
}

To:
if(isset($_COOKIE['tzo'])) {
$offset=$_COOKIE['tzo'];
} else {
$offset=intval($CONFIG['timezone']);
}

Seems once I changed to php8, it sees the zero in the CONFIG value as a bool false, not a zero. Strange thing is that of four different installs, all with fully updated Debian Bookworm and same rslight code, only retrobbs seems to exhibit that issue.

I'll make the change there also. I usually apply a change on one site for a few days to see if there are any issues, then apply it elsewhere.
